From my experience, ENG 101 and ENG 102 feel connected in purpose, even though I took English 101 about ten years ago at Excelsior College, and I honestly don’t remember the class in detail. I see ENG 101 as a precursor to ENG 102, while laying the foundation for writing as a skill that grows over time. Writing is an art, and words paint the canvas, telling stories, explaining intent, and, in my line of work, even shaping patient outcomes. What feels different now is my Views and grasp of this art. I understand how important it is to clearly communicate your intent to others in the workplace, like in the prehospital and hospital environment. One outcome I’m hoping for in this class is to strengthen and sharpen my written communication so my intent and professional judgment come across clearly. I’m most excited to work on improving how I express ideas in writing, because that connects directly to habits I already have as a reader and writer: being intentional and focused on clarity.

  1. Hi Keino Watson Thank you for sharing your experience I like how you described writing as an art, especially how clear communication can shape understanding and in professional settings. Your ideas on intent and clarity really stood out to me, and it’s something I also want to keep improving in my own writing. Writing has always been a challenge for me at times.
