Both ENG 101 and ENG 102 are writing-intensive classes. I took ENG 101 in person, and I am taking ENG 102 online in an asynchronous format. In ENG 101, I developed a strong academic writing style. I learned how to create a clear thesis, use prewriting strategies, draft and revise essays, and cite sources correctly. These skills helped me become more confident in my writing. With these developed skills, ENG 102 now focuses more on writing about literature. The course emphasizes poetry, drama, and fiction rather than general academic topics. Instead of writing research-based essays, I analyze literary texts and explain their meanings and themes. I am excited about this shift because it allows me to think more creatively and interpret different perspectives. Reading and writing about literary works feels engaging and meaningful, and it connects well with my interest in exploring ideas through stories and language.
